Toilet Repair or Replacement Mission Beach, CA

Of all the reasons to replace or upgrade your current toilets, the most important one is often the least obvious: water conservation. Within the past 10 or so years, toilet flush mechanisms have been restricted to allowing a flush of 1.6, or sometime 1.0 gallons per flush. In years prior, 3.5 gallons was the standard, and before that, up to 8.5 gallons was not unheard of. Just to flush a toilet. With water conservation being such an important issue as it is today, all toilets are now regulated at very low flush volumes. There are several types of toilets for you to consider if you are upgrading or replacing.

Standard, 1.6 gallon per flush (or gpf) toilets are installed in all newly constructed homes. They feature internal parts designed to limit the amount of water used for each flush. They are available in an extremely wide variety of styles, sizes, colors, and some have some very unique features. The height of the toilet's bowl ranges anywhere from 15 inches to 17 1/2 inches (called comfort height), and can be round or elongated. The toilet's tank is matched to the bowl, and houses all the components necessary to operate the toilet. Tanks come in different shapes and styles also. As far as colors go, white is the standard, but most companies offer a whole pallet of color options, from black to pink.

The newest innovation in toilet design is called dual-flush. This type of toilet features two flush buttons, one activating a 1.0 gallon flush, the other the standard 1.6 gallon flush. The two flushes have their purposes, and without going into too much detail, we'll just call them 1 & 2.

High-end toilets feature some very unique, and often strange features. Such amenities as self-opening and closing lids, heated seats, automatic flush, and LED lighting are found on some. There are also some very oddly-shaped toilets to be had, such as JUST a seat and no tank (the tank is built into the rear of the seat), one that looks similar to a box, and other strange one-piece designs. These toilets can often retail for up to $4000.00. Not necessary to spend, but a truly unique addition to any bathroom.

So if your toilet is beginning to have repeated clogs, is starting to discolor, leak or otherwise, or you simply want to upgrade your bathrooms, new toilets are the easy, and eco-friendly way to do so and Plumbing Mission Beach Specialists can service your toilet needs.
